This year we are offering the four module Broker pre-licensing course as well as the Principles of Real Estate course required to obtain a real estate license.

$325 for each Broker Course    Every Wednesday 8:45am-5pm

Real Estate Finance

(45 classroom hour Broker Pre-Licensing Course)

This course is designed for those individuals who are seeking to fulfil the educational requirement to obtain a Broker’s license.

In this finance course, students will learn and study the nature and cycle of real estate finance, the monetary system, Government influence over money, the primary and secondary market, sources of money and financing programs.  The course will also cover the loan process and defaults and foreclosures.  

In addition to the main instructor, a variety of guest speakers will be invited to discuss the current financial market and lending practices with the class.

At the conclusion of the course students will have a better understanding of the financial market, types of loans available and the loan process.

Completion of this course fulfills 45 hours of the 180-hour educational requirement for a Broker’s license It is not approved for Continuing Education or Post License Education for those seeking to meet the educational requirements for license renewal.

 

 

Real Estate Brokerage

(45 classroom hour Broker Pre-Licensing Course) 

This course is designed for those individuals who are seeking to fulfil the educational requirement to obtain a Broker’s license.

This is a highly interactive course of lecture, class discussion and group project.

The course will cover multiple subjects on leadership and management, developing a plan, structure of organizations business policies and practices, staffing, training, critiquing operations and managing risk.

Students will firm groups and create a “new” real estate firm from the ground up then present their project to the class at the end of the course.

At the conclusion of the course, students will understand the leadership role of a managing broker, different types of business organizations and the mechanics and operation of starting and running a real estate firm.

Real Estate Law

(45 Classroom Hours Broker Pre-Licensing Course) 

This course is designed for those individuals who are seeking to fulfil the educational requirement to obtain a Broker’s license.

This course is an introduction to the concepts of real property law. The course includes a review of real property law including rights in land, legal interests, ownership rights, estates in land, easements, basic contract law, agency, fraud, liens, land descriptions, title, mortgages, fair housing, land use & regulations, zoning and environmental issues. Along with lecture there are a variety of actual court cases that are reviewed and discussed.

The course also will cover Virginia specific laws, disclosures, agency, fair housing and real estate license law.

Completion of this course fulfills 45 hours of the 180-hour educational requirement for a Broker’s license It is not approved for Continuing Education or Post License Education for those seeking to meet the educational requirements for license renewal.

 

 

Real Estate Appraisal

(45 classroom hour Broker Pre-Licensing course)

This course is designed for those individuals who are seeking to fulfil the educational requirement to obtain a Broker’s license.

This course is designed for the real estate professional who desires to understand the basics of real estate appraising.  The appraisal profession will be discussed along with the requirements to become an appraiser.  The course will cover the basic concepts of appraising including the appraisal process.  Students will learn the steps in the process of evaluating property, the different approaches to value, and appraising residential and income producing properties.  Finally, During the course through a variety of exercises, students will learn and complete in detail each section of an appraisal form.

Basic math exercises will be part of this course so students should bring some type of calculator to class.

At the conclusion of the course students will have an understanding of the appraisal profession and the process, factors and research that takes place when appraising property.

Principles and Practices of Real Estate

(60 classroom hour- salesperson pre-license course)

This course is the pre-license course that meets the educational requirement for licensure as a salesperson in Virginia.  It is intended to help the student prepare for the Virginia Salesperson exam.

The course will cover all areas required by the Virginia Real Estate Board including property ownership, land use and controls, valuation of property, financing including math, agency, disclosures, contracts, transfer of title, fair housing and licensing regulations.

At the successful completion of this course students may sit for the state exam.  Please note that passing the state exam does not automatically generate a real estate license. Other requirements must be met in order to obtain a Salespersons license in Virginia.
